Climate Change

The City is obligated to approve permits to any company if their business type is allowed in that zone and their application meets all code requirements. This is why the Bridge Industrial Warehouse project was approved, even though it will bring unnecessary pollution and traffic to an already low-equity neighborhood. The City must identify spaces that may be desirable for development and then attract climate-friendly businesses to them, before a mega warehouse decides to try to move in.

As someone with a background in zoning and permits, I will work with the Community & Economic Development Department to find ways to attract climate-friendly businesses to our City. We need to fill vacant land and tenant spaces with uses that align with the City's Climate Action Plan.
